Why are estimates different?

There are many reasons why this occurs. The main reason is because some shops are not as detailed when writing out an estimate. It is also to do with the shops use of factory, aftermarket, or even used parts. Don’t be afraid to tell the shop which type of parts you want replaced on your vehicle

Do I have to use aftermarket or used parts?

Depending on on your insurance policy, it might include using these types of parts. Please contact your insurance agent and ask them what your policy covers. If aftermarket parts are used, they must exceed or meet factory spec for your car. If the insurance company isn’t obligated to pay for original parts, they must return your car as close a possible to pre-loss condition as possible.

Where do I get a claim number?

When you report your accident to your insurance company, they will provide you with a claim number. Please provide that number to Tim’s Body Shop.

Do I have to pay my deductible?

Yes, this is an agreement you have with your insurance company and the policy you chose.

When will parts be ordered?

Once Tim’s Body Shop has received approval for repairs from your insurance company, the parts are ordered. Usually, we set your appointment when we receive the parts.

Do I have the Right to use the body shop of MY chosing or do I have to use what my insurance agent tells me?

As the vehicle owner you have the choice as to where you want your vehicle repaired. You also don’t have to get additional estimates. We will work with any insurance company. When making your decision, be sure that they work for YOU not for the insurance company.
